Ok just about 10 days until my coding course materials are due. I’ve basically told myself that the only reason I can leave is to go grocery shopping. Actually that’s a great segway to talk about grocery stores in Copenhagen. I don’t think I’ve done that yet but I apologize if I have. The grocery stores here are great. There’s a good amount of variety in both the products that they sell and the price points of the stores. You have higher end stores and cheaper stores, and I have used a combination of both because sometimes one store won’t have sales and another store will. Also, sometimes one store just won’t have what I need (obviously) so I just go to another one. It’s really convenient because there are two about 800 m (maybe a 10 minute walk) away from my dorm. One is higher end, and the other is more of a budget store which is such a great help. Also, there’s another more budget grocery store about 1.2 km away from where I am which is also very convenient. But anyway grocery shopping is pretty easy here. I always look for sales because obviously those will be cheaper and I’m on a budget so I don’t want to be blowing money on things I don’t need to. I think it could take some getting used to if you’ve never done it on your own, especially in a new country where the currency isn’t 100% familiar. It’s totally doable but it is important to think about how much you spend and balance that with your nutrient intake. I’ve been living off of eggs and instant ramen noodles which isn’t the best but that’s my fault for taking so much time to finish off my code. Also, grocery shopping is ESSENTIAL for saving money. You can make it if you buy all your food but you will use a ton of money. Even buying groceries can be expensive but I do think I’ve saved a significant amount of money buying groceries and making food. Something easy is pasta. It’s a pretty diverse base that has a ton of possibilities with ingredients that are readily available. If you don’t know how to cook, just look up some easy pasta recipes. And if you REALLY don’t know what to do, boil pasta, buy some sauce, and buy some meat. Easy pasta dishes. That’s just my personal thing and I honestly don’t think many people would like it but I’m on a budget so that’s what I do.
Once again, rather than give you an insight into the extremely interesting world of me sitting at my desk hunched over my computer eating pasta, I'll post pictures of more things that make me happy: food.

My first attempt at grilled salmon. Call me Roy Yamaguchi.

Sushi that I (thankfully) didn't cook for myself. It was almost too beautiful to eat. Almost.
